BMJ Open Access Programme

BMJ has a long history of engagement with Open Access. We believe that the wide availability of research articles is critically important to our core aim of helping doctors and patients make better healthcare decisions.

To help academic and research institutions, funders, societies and corporations financially support Open Access publishing, and ensure the extensive reach of work published by their researchers, BMJ has introduced two new Institutional Open Access options: an Open Access Account and Open Access Membership. These options allow institutions to remove all or some of the financial cost involved when their authors publish Open Access with BMJ.
